青木愛弓による個展「うたかたの景色」

フジギャラリー新宿では、2025年2月14日（金）〜3月30日（日）まで、伊藤朋子による展覧会 “Vibes in the Air“を開催いたします。

西新宿のヒルトン東京地下1階に位置するフジギャラリー新宿では、2025年9月12日（金）から10月19日（日）まで、青木愛弓による個展「うたかたの景色」を開催いたします。

青木愛弓（1982―）は、心に浮かぶ断片的なイメージや情景を、美しく儚い景色へと再構築する画家です。自作のコラージュ素材を重ね、流れるような多彩な筆致で描かれた架空の景色は、透明感にあふれ、刻々と変化する中で切り取られた一瞬を表現しています。今回の展覧会では、タイトル「うたかたの景色」の通り、ゆっくりと意識して見つめなければ見過ごしてしまうような、四季折々の瞬間を詩情豊かに描いた作品を展示します。

代表作「水辺の記憶」シリーズをはじめ、青木の作品は濁りのない清澄な画面が魅力です。本展では、その儚くも美しい画風をさらに広げ、淀みや澱をも内包した新たな表現にも挑んでいます。

うたかたの景色

私の作品は、記憶をコラージュするように、心に浮かぶ断片的なイメージや情景を再構築して描いています。

水面に浮かぶ泡がはかなく消えゆくように、記憶もまた曖昧で、移ろいゆくもの。

私はその消え入りそうな透明感や、瞬間に集まっては消える記憶の欠片に、人間の深みや美しさを見出しています。

絵画制作とは、その儚い一瞬を永遠に作品の中に留める試みでもあります。

この「儚さ」は、決して悲観的な意味合いではありません。

それは日本人が古くから大切にしてきた「もののあはれ」に通じる、しみじみとした無常観であり、儚さのなかに宿る美しさそのものです。この独自の感性を、私の絵画を通して表現したいと考えています。

FUJI GALLERY SHINJUKU is pleased to present "Ephemeral Landscapes", a solo exhibition by Ayumi AOKI, running from September 12 (Fri) to October 19 (Sun), 2025, at our space located on the B1 floor of Hilton Tokyo, Nishi-Shinjuku.

Born in 1982, AOKI is a painter who reconstructs fleeting fragments of images and scenes that arise in her mind into landscapes of beauty and transience. Layering self-made collage materials with flowing, varied brushstrokes, she creates imaginary sceneries imbued with transparency, capturing moments suspended during constant transformation. As the title "Ephemeral Landscapes" suggests, this exhibition features works that poetically depict seasonal moments—scenes so subtle and delicate that they might go unnoticed unless viewed with slow, deliberate attention.

A hallmark of AOKI’s work, as seen in her signature Memory of the Waterside series, is the pristine clarity of her pictorial space. In this exhibition, she extends her exploration beyond her characteristically ephemeral beauty to embrace new expressions that also hold depth, sediment, and stillness within.

Ephemeral Landscapes

My paintings are created by reconstructing fragmentary images and scenes that surface in my mind, as if collaging memories.

Like bubbles floating on the surface of water and vanishing in an instant, memories too are ambiguous and ever-changing.

In those fading transparencies and the fleeting fragments that gather and dissolve in a moment, I find a depth and beauty that are uniquely human.

To paint is, for me, an attempt to preserve such ephemeral instants within the permanence of a work.

This ephemerality is by no means tinged with sadness; rather, it holds a quiet sense of impermanence—known in Japanese as mono no aware, an awareness of the poignancy and beauty found within transience—that has been cherished in Japan for centuries.

Through my paintings, I hope to give form to this sensibility and to share the beauty that dwells within the fleeting.
